Tranquility on the Fringe

This framing excludes any hint of human habitation, but that doesn’t mean it’s not almost suburban. This is Hart’s Rd Wetland (May 22nd, 2022), on the south side of the Adelaide metropolitan area, in a development just back from the coast, and there are residential suburbs within a few hundred metres. But looking in the right direction one sees only trees, hills, and the created wetlands that rehabilitate the area to a habitat for birds and aquatic life. Adelaide has many of these green oases, which have been so successful in their goal of bringing back wildlife and filtering storm water. Nothing clever here other than the composition, which seems to be country as far as the eye can see, when it's actually anything but.
