Living rock

Aboriginal art? Abstract design? No -- a small section of the cliff face at Second Valley, way south of Adelaide, South Australia! Never touched by human hand, the rock has been worked by time and tides, and offers an amazing art gallery of the abstract and surreal. Second Valley is a great place for fishing, crabbing, potting for lobsters and so on, and scuba divers hop off the end of the long jetty; but I don't think anyone ever noticed the free art display! The day was hot and bright, but the cliff face was in the deep shade. The lens was about 20cm from the subject, and the shot has been brightened and sharpened at the software level, after the fact.
